Ridgleland, Mississippi currently ranks #80 on Money Magazine’s 100 Best Places To Live. Flowood is a great community and should not be over looked when considering a home purchase. Currently Madison is one of the popular choices as a home town by today’s buyers.
The real estate market here in Jackson and surrounding communities, such as Flowood, Madison, Clinton and Ridgleand, is steady and all indications for the buyer it is that it’s a great time to buy.
The Central Mississippi area, like most of the country, is currently experiencing a Buyer’s Market, However, prices are holding steady in our area.
A Buyer’s market does not always mean plummeting prices and desperate sellers. The real definition is simply how many homes are on the market in relation to how many buyers are in the marketplace. When homes begin to stay on the market for more than 90 days, the market shifts to a buyer’s market. Homes in Jackson and the surrounding communities are averaging 90 and 120 days on the market.
Good news for both buyers and sellers is that homes are selling within 5% of the asking price. So while the market conditions are in the buyer’s favor, sellers are motivated but are definitely not in a “desperate selling” mode as is the case in other parts of the nation. Prices for homes in the area fall in the Flat Market category. This simply means, as I stated earlier that the prices are holding steady.
Another great incentive for today’s home buyer is the current interest rates which are definitively in the buyer’s favor.
